Duties

• You will monitor financial transactions for compliance with regulations and organizational procedures.
• You will resolve disbursement issues in cooperation with other employees.
• You will process material, services, travel, training, or procurement transactions in compliance with regulations.
• You will use federal financial management systems and sub systems to extract data, identify and resolve system problems, and maintain data integrity.
• You will research and analyze information related to accounting, auditing, budgeting or other financial management activities to ensure the accuracy of transactions.

• This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: 1) Maintains pay records in accordance with organizational rules and procedures; 2) Utilizes automated financial management systems; 3) Processes pay actions in accordance to organization's policies and procedures; 4) Provides records review for a variety of functions to ensure compliance with regulations.

Additional information

This position may be filled as a Permanent or Term Appointment. Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. While this is a time limited appointment, there may be opportunity for a permanent appointment of a similar position at a later date.
