Data Governance Business AnalystNCB is seeking a Data Governance Business Analyst for it Arlington, VA office. This position is focused on the definition, harmonization, and governance of enterprise data to deliver maximum efficiency and business value while simultaneously reducing risks related to inconsistent and incorrect data. The person in this role will be a subject matter expert on the business use(s) and source(s) of data.* The Data Governance Business Analyst will be responsible for representing the Data Governance team in coordinating the acquisition of data onto the Enterprise Data Services (EDS) platform and the understanding and usage of that data from the EDS.* This position will ensure compliance to data quality requirements while reporting and developing new data quality measures to safeguard NCB's most critical data.* This position will monitor data quality and will work with other internal departments in resolving data quality (DQ) issues and ensuring proper enterprise data integration, data quality, and integrity.* They work with stakeholders, system owners, and data integration staff to aid in the governance of enterprise data to include managing DQ requirements to resolve DQ gaps/issues, actively monitoring the results of DQ rules, and provide monthly reporting of DQ results.* They will proactively monitor, measure, analyze, execute, improve, and report on enterprise data quality issues.Qualifications Include:* Bachelor's Degree in the field of business, accounting, computer science, decision support, data science, or comparable field of study is required with a minimum 3-5 years of related work experience* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), organizational skills, and interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to create rapport with different stakeholders* Superior analytical skills* Must be self-motivated and self-directed with a demonstrated willingness to work as part of a team* Detail oriented and able to prioritize and work efficiently on multiple work threads* 3 or more years working in the banking or financial services industry* 3 or more years working on data warehouse, data mart, and/or comparable initiatives in an analyst role gathering data usage and sourcing requirements and translating those requirements into data integration, data design, and report functional design specifications* 2 or more years with significant participation in developing logical data models, glossaries, and/or data dictionaries* Comfort with accessing, querying, analyzing, and presenting data at a detail and summary level* Demonstrated willingness to learn business concepts, processes, and data at an in-depth level* Demonstrated hands-on SQL skills (both writing and reverse engineering) using relational databases* Demonstrated data manipulation and analysis skills using end-user tools such as Excel, Excel pivot tables, and / or MS Access (or comparable)* Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification is a plus* Experience with data governance tools including data catalogs, business glossaries, and data quality tools, is a plus* Experience constructing reports and data views using MicroStrategy or similar market-leading reporting or business intelligence tools, is a plus*Related Systems/Software/Equipment*Microsoft Office Applications, SQL Server Management Studio, Azure DevOpsAA/EOEJob Type: Full-time
