_We are _seeking to fill a *Software Engineer* position with one of our clients in *Rockville, MD**Position: *Software Engineer* *Location: *Rockville, MD* *Position Type: *Full time*Education: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Mathematics/Engineering or another similar study or 10 years of experience working on similar projects and programs.*Skills/Experience: ** 2-3 years experience on enterprise software development projects in a cloud (AWS, S3, GCP, Lambda) environment.* 2-3 years' experience with Python/JAVA software development.* 2-3 years' experience implementing new APIs/software application development.* 2-3 years of software testing using Junit.* 2-3 years of experience developing data consumption/use modules with user capability to search and share datasets in development/test/production configuration using Linux virtual machines and physical servers.*Duties: ** Perform full lifecycle development of enterprise software using Java/JEE. Develop software modules and web services using Python or other programming languages as required.* Implement new Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), capabilities, and architectures. Develop web applications for model and data management.* Perform design, development, and testing using agreed-upon standards and tools. Follow coding guidelines and adhere to the standards for source code documentation. Maintain high standards of software quality while delivering solutions on time and within budget.* Design and maintain database schemas to store application data.* Support integration of cloud capabilities including the use of AWS S3 and GCP storage, Lambda functions, and other cloud services.* Translate business requirements into technical solutions. Determine feasibility of implementation within time constraints. Perform sizing and estimations.* Partner and collaborate with SMEs and cross functional teams to deliver results.* Identify and address technology challenges to develop robust, secure, and scalable products and solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.* Participate in code reviews and sprint retrospectives.* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with the deployed software.
