* Answer phones and redirect calls to Paralegals and Attorneys.* Schedule appointments for consultations.* Update physical files in office, copy, label and maintain case files, as well as continuously update existing cases.* Update and scan files/OCR using Adobe for voluminous medical records.* Maintaining accuracy and actively update All case files; including State and Federal case dockets, filings and activities.* Open, inspect and process all the office mail which includes: processing, time-stamping all incoming mail; also all outgoing correspondence and mail needs to be processed, input in the system and monitored.* Drafting and editing and proof-reading documents submitted for court filing.* Submit court filing on ECF, confirm that the documents have been filed correctly, received and update Time Matters that the task has been completed successfully.* Work related experience with Microsoft programs such as: Word, Word Perfect, Excel; in addition to Adobe PDF, and other legal computer software such as Time Matters* Filing, Scanning, Labeling, Numbering, Time-stamping, and updating ALL present and future cases and files.* Contacting clients for document requests and notifying them of upcoming hearings; in addition follow-up calls and emails which have to be monitored for the required response and information that was being asked for.* Ability to adapt work under pressure, deadlines, multi-task and feel comfortable actively working with different type of cases including Social Security Disability, Estate Planning/Probate, Criminal, and Personal Injury law.* Capable of grammar corrections, proof reading, correct formatting in word and PDF* /*/*/*Must have excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and typing skills.*Central Daily Responsibilities: * Communicate with existing clients; screen and process new prospective clients/referrals; contact doctor's offices to obtain medical records and documentation of clients' disability; communicate with the Social Security Administration to assist in adjudication and processing of claims; Prepare, edit, and file legal documents, including Social Security Disability applications and appeals; follow-up on status of fee payments to clients and the firm.*Position Requirements: ** Prior experience working in the Social Security Disability field is preferred* Prior experience using a Diary System / Case Management Software is preferred* Associates/Bachelors Degree is preferred* Ability to Travel to Two Office Locations: Bel Air and Towson.New-hires will work with all staff members to accomplish daily-assigned tasks.
