Each member of The Doyle Collection team is an ambassador of our brand values: Generosity, Personal and Belonging.*The Dupont Circle now has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Housekeeping to join our team.**Purpose: *The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for the overall operations of the Housekeeping Department. This includes managing the housekeeping functions and staff on a daily basis to ensure property guest rooms, public space and employee areas are clean and well maintained. As the department leader, the Housekeeping Director directs and works with the team to successfully execute all housekeeping operations according to the high level of quality and standards The Doyle Collection is known for. The position reports directly to the Hotel Manager and oversees housekeeping room attendants, house people, turndown public area.*Key Responsibilities: ** Ensure that all guest rooms, public areas, and back of house are cleaned properly and are up to hotel standards.* Manages housekeeping operations and budgets in line with hotel financial targets* Reviews and manages staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met* Develop, collect, maintain and disseminate the basic hotel philosophy of management and policies to all present employees and newly hired personnel.* Assure a high degree of morale among all Housekeeping employees, addresses and resolves any areas of concern or conflict in an ethical, fair and consistent manner* Ensures adherence to federal, district and company safety and health standards inclusive of policies, processes, auditing and training* Develop, implement and participate in employee training programs that will result in the highest quality workers and best productivity.* Plan and assign work schedules for Housekeeping personnel* Supervises an effective inspection program for all guest rooms and public space as well as daily housekeeping shift operations, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures and standards* Be prepared to assist employees during peak periods* Provide adequate advice and counsel to all Housekeeping employees* Prepare budgets and control labor and supply costs* Prepare purchase requisitions, verify invoices pertaining to housekeeping department and requisitioned supplies and monthly inventory processes.* Analyze all costs and revenue reports pertaining to the housekeeping areas* Communicates areas that need attention to staff and follows up to ensure understanding* Participates in departmental meetings, pre-shifts and team engagement activities to establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with team members, soliciting team feedback and utilization of an open door policy, ensures employee recognition is taking place consistently and regularly, participates in* Participates in recruitment , training, team engagement, compliance, team member development, corrective action and staffing activities*The ideal candidate will have the following experience, knowledge and skills: ** In depth knowledge of housekeeping operations in a full service luxury hotel. 3-5 years as an Assistant Director or 2-3 years as a Director of Housekeeping in a similar sized operation. Previous management experience is required.* Knowledge of luxury hotel cleanliness standards, with proven background of consistently meeting high level of standards. LQA and/or Forbes standards are a plus* Knowledge of health and safety standards* Proven leadership experience, has a background of fostering strong team member relation, effective addressing of concerns, positive communication skills, and follow up.* Organized, efficient and able to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast paced environment* Knowledge and experience in helping to set and understand labor budgets, supplies and inventories, staffing, strong technology skills* Able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends*Benefits package: ** Low cost medical benefit options the first of the month following sixty days* Free life insurance, short and long term disability* Close to the metro, there is also access to commuter benefits* Paid vacation, paid holidays and paid sick time* 401k with company match* Hotel and company travel and restaurant discounts.* Tuition reimbursement, team member referral, and other benefits.The Doyle Collection is an equal opportunities employer.
