The company's mission is to reach all clients who struggle with language, fluency, comprehension, and voice disorders, who are in rural areas, and clients who are not reachable due to the shortage of individuals in the field of Speech Pathology.Under the direction of the Office Manager who is supported by the Chief Executive Officer, the Medical Biller shall provide accurate and timely billing functions, record and collect claims, billing, and copayments, and process insurance claims in compliance with federal regulations. The Medical Biller shall work in collaboration with the office manager, program supervisors, board-certified behavior analysts, registered behavior technicians, and speech therapists.*Role and Responsibilities** Assist patients with completing initial visit documentation and insurance questions* Answer patients' questions and ensure the highest standard of customer service* Maintain client confidentiality, understand, and adhere to HIPAA regulatory laws, rules, regulations, and policies* Adhere to time and attendance policies and maintain a record, in good standing, of regular and reliable attendance and punctuality, to provide quality and consistent patient care* Adhere to Pediatric Speech Lab policies, processes, procedures, and best practices* Assist patients with completing initial visit documentation and insurance questions* Answer patients' questions and ensure the highest standard of customer service* Communicate appropriately and effectively with colleagues and families, as needed* Communicate effectively with managers and leaders, and external customers* Accurately process billing claims each day from the Speech and Language department and the Behavioral Health department* Understand and utilize proper billing codes and modifiers for therapy codes used in insurance claims* Accurately record and collect copayments utilizing the online portal* Process insurance claims in compliance with federal laws and regulations* Effectively audit claims denied or not paid by insurance* Manage and accurately balance account receivables and account payables to maintain exact financial records* Participate in ongoing training, evaluations, and meetings, as required* Assist with job-related administrative tasks as necessary* Perform other duties as assigned*Qualifications and Job Requirements*_*Education and Experience*_* Minimum of high school diploma or GED* Certification in medical billing and coding* Experience as a medical biller working with Speech-Language and Behavioral health coding* Previous experience using medical software, preferably Fusion Web ClinicJob Type: Full-timePay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hourSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Monday to Friday* Weekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:To keep our workers, families and facility safe.
