Ideally, we are looking for at least a two-year commitment but will seriously consider exceptional candidates for a shorter one-year term./*_*Job Duties & Responsibilities: ** Collect patient information/history, taking vitals and performing screenings per provider guidelines.* Use sterile technique to prepare procedure rooms and surgical trays.* Comply with all company policies and procedures in adherence to HIPAA regulations.* Obtain a pertinent patient history and physical, communicating the information back to the surgeon. Describe removal of the lesion, repair options, and postoperative wound care. Answer all patient questions within your scope.* Assist with documentation in EMR.* Record, manage, and update malignant and non-malignant pathology results in log.* Drape and prepare surgical site while maintaining sterile field, numb surgical site by injecting local anesthesia, achieve hemostasis using handheld cautery device, bandage patients appropriately based on surgical site.* Assist physician during all procedures (passing instruments, blotting, cutting sutures, etc).* Independently see and evaluate postoperative follow up patients.* Additional direct patient care responsibilities available with experience.* Opportunities for clinical research and publications for interested students.* Travel required to the following offices: *Annapolis, MD, Glen Burnie, MD, Prince Frederick, MD, Berlin, MD, Hagerstown, MD, Westminster, MD, Havre de Grace, MD**Qualifications: ** 1-3 years of experience in a medical office setting is required* A college graduate or other individual interested in exploring opportunities in an in-office surgical setting* Have a passion for taking care of people* Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment* Must have reliable transportation and a willingness to travel to various surgical centers in Maryland* Will train motivated and hard-working candidates.
