*Director of Development and Engagement (Open Until Filled)*Hillcrest Children and Family Center, a premier behavioral health and social service agency, serving the District of Columbia since 1815, is currently looking for a full-time Director of Development and Engagement. The job includes fund development, strategic partnership cultivation, community engagement, information management, financial administration and fiscal reporting while implementing fundraising activities for Hillcrest Children and Family Center.*Duties and Responsibilities Include: *Fundraising Planning and ImplementationThe Director of Development and Engagement is responsible for preparing and implementing an annual fundraising plan that will detail out how HCFC will meet its philanthropic fundraising goals._Grants_: The Director of Development and Engagement will manage and build HCFC's portfolio of family foundation, corporate, and government grants leading in the writing of grant proposals and developing event opportunities_Individual Giving and Major Donor Program_: The Director of Development and Engagement will research and identify prospective new donors and proactively initiate sponsorship and funding playing a critical role in building HCFC's individual giving and major donor programs, including communications with current and prospective donors, generating reports to present to the leadership team._Events Management_: The Director of Development and Engagement will spearhead the execution of crucial fundraising events coordinating all aspects of the events and activities from planning to execution.Communications and MarketingThe Director of Development and Engagement will be one of the prominent leads on most external communications for the organization, including social media, the website, e-newsletters, print materials, and press outreach. Must have a thorough knowledge of online platforms.Management and Board EngagementThe Director of Development and Engagement will work directly with the management team to supervise project workflow and oversee day-to-day milestones for projects. They will work closely with leadership to engage them in fundraising.Strategic PlanningThe Director of Development and Engagement will participate in strategic plan assessment; providing insight into funder and donor needs and expectations; and collaborating on any needed fundraising planning. The Director of Development and Engagement will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to develop plans for long-term financial sustainability.*Major Responsibilities: *80% Development* Create and implement fundraising initiatives, with emphasis on leveraging individual giving, corporate and foundation gifts, and online giving.* Manage development-related projects and events throughout the year, to include: executive dinners, gala, fundraising events, and other event related activities.* Develop annual fundraising plan for presentation to the Board of Directors.* Donor management to ensure that all donors are appropriately thanked and receive regular communication by making donor stewardship a priority throughout the Center.* Serve as a visible spokesperson and advocate for Hillcrest Center and its programs in the funding community.* Knowledge and ability to write grants and sponsorship proposals.* Serve a liaison to Board Development Committee* Develop Annual Reports and guide the development of brochures, newsletters and other communication and promotional items20% Community Engagement* Serve as Hillcrest Center liaison for events and special opportunities.* Remain abreast of Center-related current events & developments in the media and provide ideas and links to advance the Center using media & branding.* Maximize engagement using various social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, etc.* Identify and coordinate new program opportunities and partners.*Ideal Candidates should have: ** Bachelor's degree required, and at least 3 years of progressive experience in development* Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite* Effective written and oral communication skills* Proven track record of fundraising for an organization with large scale budget* Ability to work with a diverse team and promote a positive brand image* Experience in nonprofit development with ability to analyze rules and regulations guiding non-profit organizations* Knowledge of and curiosity of trends and best practices in resource development* Proven success in bringing in new and increased sources of funding* Experience with Pledgemaker or other donor database desired, but not necessary*_As a behavioral health agency, we are not only committed to the well -being of our consumers, but to our employees as well.
