Ideal candidate will have come up through the _Application Dev/Ops ranks_ and have experience managing operational budgets of $3+ million and projects of upwards of $40+ million. Requires exceptional executive leadership skills as well as a strong background in all aspects of software development from concept through feasibility, evaluation, design, selection, development, delivery, training, support and maintenance. Responsible for the all Application Development cost centers / team (eg, IT Administrative Support Systems, Student Information Systems, Student and Staff Learning Management Systems) for "City Schools."A' Position requires the complex coordination of a broad array of "customers"A' (_e.g., central office staff, teachers / principals, students / families_) and the integration of multiple diverse disciplines (eg, Application Development, Data Analytics, System Selection, Integration & Support) and the support of numerous ongoing projects (eg, Finance, Payroll & Human Capital Modernization, Student Learning Objective and Enrollment, Choice & Transfer). Plus, the shared evaluation, selection and integration activities of a separate "EdTech"A' solutions group and the various departments seeking unique, individualized support systems. Job entails reviewing the efficiency and effectiveness of operational / administrative information management systems and determining requirements for continuous improvement of such systems. Participates in establishing, planning, and administering the overall policies and goals for the information technology department, including maintenance of a 3-5 year Strategic Plan. Sets managers objectives, evaluates managers performance and performs the functions of the managers supervised as necessary. Review(s) employee objectives set by managers and reviews evaluations performed by managers. Additionally - and critically - the growth of the staff and the development of a Succession Plan that ensures staff are able to take over when the Director is not available and/or has moved on to other responsibilities.* Position is very technical in nature, requiring technical acumen / prowess - including technologies and practices not yet in place at City Schools - but it also requires an extensive degree of business acumen and consultative skills as well.
