TBS provides one-on-one behavioral intervention services to children and youth whose maladaptive behaviors place them at risk for a more restrictive setting. TBS provides these intervention services in accordance to a behavioral plan developed by a licensed professional. Children and youth can be approved for up to 40 hours a week for services.*TBS Aide Position Overview: *Under general supervision, the Aide provides one-on-one behavioral interventions to a child/youth in the clientA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s home, residential placement, school, or during community outings. Amount of time spent with the client per week is determined by how many hours they are approved for. Clients are approved from 5 to 40 hours per week. The Aide performs additional related work as assigned.*Examples of Duties and Responsibilities: ** Provides one on one direct behavioral intervention with children/youth.* Serves as a positive role model for the child/youth.* Provides time-structuring activities.* Provides immediate behavioral reinforcements.* Provides appropriate time-out strategies.* Develops behavioral treatment plans with input of treatment team.* Provides cognitive behavioral approaches, such as cognitive restructuring, use of hierarchies, and graduated exposure.* Collaboration with and support for the family caregiversA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents efforts to provide a positive environment for the child/youth.* Assists the child/youth to engage in, or remain engaged in, appropriate activities.* Helps to minimize the child/youthA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s impulsive behavior.* Helps to increase the child/youthA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s social and community competencies by building or reinforcing those daily living skills that will assist the child/youth in living successfully at home and in the community.* Assists in developing the child/youthA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s ability to sustain self-directed appropriate behavior, internalize a sense of social responsibility, and/or enable participation proactively in community activities.* Ensures safety of client at all times during the provision of Therapeutic Behavioral Services; remains responsive to the clientA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s needs.* Verifies the authorization for medical treatment forms and any other required forms are completed and on file.* Maintains confidentiality regarding child/youth and his/her family.* Complies with Bright Futures AheadA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s Personnel Policies and other formal company guidelines and policies.* Reports incidences of suspected of child abuse in compliance with mandated reporting requirements.* Communicates professionally with clients, parents, and guardians.* Attends ongoing clinical supervision a meeting as required; participates in case conferences and related meetings as directed.*Qualifications*Education:* Associates Degree focused on mental/behavioral health, OR HS Diploma and 1-year experience in the mental/behavioral health field.*Knowledge of: ** Principles of cognitive behavioral psychology.* Basic medical and psychiatric terminology.* Techniques for dealing with emotionally disturbed children, youth, and/or their families.* Correct English usage including spelling and punctuation.*Requirements: ** Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and early mornings.* Must obtain criminal history fingerprint clearance prior to employment.* Must complete a physical, drug test, and TB Test prior to employment.* Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction.* Must be physically mobile.* Must have access to a telephone.* Must possess a valid Maryland driverA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s license, current automobile insurance including a minimum, and a vehicle for work.*Required Documents: ** CPR/AED/First Aid* DLA-20* CJIS Criminal Background Check* Copy of yearly physical* Pneumonia / Flu Shot* Tetanus Shot* Drug Test* Certified DriverA$ cents A cents ' not A cents " cents s Record w/ no more than 2 points* Business Rider Insurance 100,000/300,000/100,000 endorsement on declaration page* Sexual Abuse Awareness Training Certification* Narcan* Stop the Bleed* Nappi De-escalation* Complete all Agency training*Disclaimer** All background checks, verification of credentials and fitness for duty have time frames for completion and required frequency.* In the event that background checks, credential verification or fitness for duty cannot be fully completed, the CEO will mitigate the hiring decision.BFA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
