Our patented technologies use Edge Computing to usher in a new era of Cloud VDI and Gaming operating on corporate LANs, ISP fiber optics, and 5G networks.*Who Are We Looking for*At present, we are seeking a Director of Software Engineering who would like to apply his/her skills and experience to do innovative work in a new frontier in computing. The person to fill this position must be one who looks for career growth opportunities by taking risks with a smaller but growing organization. This person must be able to grow under our guidance into one who will take a leading role in the company and share its ownership. In plain terms, we are looking for a partner to join us to take charge of the entire software engineering discipline to implement the technologies that we have been building. In due time, we would like for the person in this position to grow into the role of Vice President of Software Engineering as a member of our leadership team.*Job Summary: *The Director of Software Engineering (DSE) will be responsible for taking over the development effort that the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) has heretofore been leading and continuing to work with him to build out the rest of technology portfolio. To do so, the DSE will need to assemble, lead, manage, and grow a team of engineers including those who are currently working at the company. In addition, the DSE will also need to collaborate with third parties to incorporate our technologies into theirs and vice versa.*As our DSE, here are the highlights of your responsibilities: ** Builds and manages our engineering team* Has the vision, passion, and drive to develop a top performing engineering organization* Day-to-day operations* Plans and coordinates the work of engineering staffA$ 'A' . Oversees engineering staff and ensures they meet goals and objectivesA$ 'A' . Recruits additional engineering staff as neededA$ 'A' . Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructiveA$ 'A' . Provides training and mentoring as neededA$ 'A' . Studies, reviews, debates, and works with the CTO and Product Management to develop products from concept to testing to productionA$ 'A' . Collaborates with Marketing to determine the market potential for new productsA$ 'A' . Oversees progress and timeliness of development projectsA$ 'A' . Reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budgetA$ 'A' . Performs other related duties as required such as lending a hand to do coding when needed to meet deadlines*As our DSE, you must have the following general skills: ** Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable talking with customers and investorsA$ 'A' . Excellent hands-on managerial and supervisory skillsA$ 'A' . Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsA$ 'A' . Extensive technical knowledge of engineering and product developmentA$ 'A' . Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar softwareA$ 'A' . Proficient in agile methodologies, Git-based & open source workflows, CI/CD pipeline, DevOps, platform engineeringA$ 'A' . Experienced with networking protocols and tools (HTTPs, TCP, QUIC, WireShark)A$ 'A' . Experienced with various programming languages and frameworks, especially Rust, C/C++, JavaScript, WebAssembly, Kubernetes, and microservices architectureA$ 'A' . Experienced with modern SQL and NoSQL databasesA$ 'A' . Knowledgeable about x86, ARM, PCIe, Linux, Windows, and their device driver architecturesA$ 'A' . Knowledgeable about cloud computing platforms and tools (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)A$ 'A' . Familiar with VDI technologies (VMware Horizon, RDP, PCoIP)*Education and Experience: *A$ 'A' .
