*Clark & Hough LLC* provides sophisticated estate and business planning, estate administration and trust administration services for a wide range of clients. Our focus is on client service and quality representation.*Position Overview: *Working closely with clients, attorneys, and other paralegals, the Senior Estate Paralegal is generally responsible for administering the full life cycle of assigned estates. General estate administration duties including preparation of Petitions for Probate, Inventories, Information Reports, Administration Accounts, etc., preparation of fiduciary and individual income tax returns, and preparation of state and federal estate tax returns. Significant client contact expected.*Duties and Responsibilities: *Commensurate with experience - may include but are not limited to the following:* Monitors and ensures meeting of filing deadlines with Orphan's Court & Taxing authorities* Monitors and ensures quality & accuracy of filed documents* Trains, coaches, and oversees junior estate paralegals* Reads and interprets Wills and Trust instruments with attorney supervision* Maintains detailed Administration Accounts and Estate records* Marshalls estate assets and their valuations proactively* Completes paperwork to transfer assets from name of decedent to estate name* Drafts necessary correspondence* Monitors insurance coverage of estate assets* Pays estate bills and makes distributions in a timely manner* Delivers outstanding service to clients, attorneys and others involved in estate* Maintains status reports as tasks are completed* Attends appraisals of tangibles and real estate & works with appraisers* Prepares Income Tax Returns - fiduciary & individual* Prepares Federal and State Estate Tax Returns* Independently develop client solutions and obtain appropriate attorney approval for actions*Qualifications: ** AA or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university (preferred degree in paralegal studies with a concentration in estates and trusts)* Five to seven years experience in estate administration preferred* Ability to work independently* Self starter* Ability to plan and organize workload* Ability to communicate ideas effectively both verbally and in writing* Supervisory experience a plus* Experience in fiduciary and individual income tax return preparation a plus* Experience in Federal and Maryland Estate Tax return preparation a plus*Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ** Strong skills in MS Excel and Word* PracticePanther experience a plus* Ability to evaluate inefficient/ineffective processes and identify and implement improvements.* Familiarity with operations of the Orphan's Courts of Baltimore City and County preferredJob Type: Full-timePay: From $55,000.00 per yearBenefits:* Flexible schedule* Paid time offSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Monday to Friday* No weekendsAbility to commute/relocate:* Baltimore, MD 21211: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: Hybrid remote in Baltimore, MD 21211
