Responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of various building systems that require skills in the following areas: rough and finish carpentry, masonry and concrete installations, painting, ceiling and floor tile installations, plumbing, electrical repairs, roofing repairs, doors, etc.NOTICE: Federal COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for Certain Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Employees. Per the emergency regulation issued by the US Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) (86 FR 61555), and as permitted to go into effect by the US Supreme Court on January 13, 2002, all staff a the Maryland Department of Health's CMS certified health care facilities are required to receive either a first or single COVID-19 dose and provide proof of their vaccination status by January 29, 2002. If selected form this position, candidates will be required to provide proof of vaccination status or have an approved religious or medical exemption prior to appointment.*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**Education: * Eighth grade.*Experience: * Four years of experience in any combination of the maintenance trades, three years must be in the trades of electricity, plumbing, steam fitting, refrigeration or air conditioning.*Notes: *1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in any of the maintenance trades on a year-for-year basis for up to three years of the required education.2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a degree from an accredited vocational or technical high school with a major in Building Maintenance or a related field for up to three years of the required general experience.3. Candidates may substitute US Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in utilities repair classifications or construction and engineering specialty codes in any combination of maintenance trades, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.*LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS*Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle.
