*SUMMARY: * National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a nonprofit substance use treatment facility in Arlington, VA is looking for a full-time Facilities Technician to be responsible for providing a safe, secure and appropriate facility at each program. This is a full-time, M-F, 9am-5pm position with full benefits.*HVAC experience is a plus.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Responsible for maintaining health, safety, sanitation and fire systems to standards of compliance for state and local licensing bodiesPerform regular and routine inspections of facility with facility and program directorsNote areas of deficiency and provide corrective action planMaintain and upgrades facilitiesEnsure that the physical conditions in each facility, at all times promote the respect, dignity and privacy of the clientEnsure that adequate and appropriate space available and assigned to staff, in each facility, to perform and the duties as described in their individual job descriptions and that appropriate supplies and equipment are providedOversee regular maintenance of all NCTR vehiclesAssure that all vehicles have current inspections, county stickers, registrations and insuranceReport to Program Director when vehicles have been damaged due to accident or vandalismInvestigate circumstances of damage and write an Incident Report as neededAssist as able to transport clientsMaintain ethical standards and continued professional growth, includinga. Abide by Program and NCTR policy and procedures.b. Ensure all CARF standards are instituted and maintainedc. Promote, in public and private contacts, the quality standards and ethical practices of NCTR staffd. Continue professional growth by attending workshops, trainings and NCTR staff in-servicetrainings to increase skill and knowledge and to set appropriate example for staff. Maintain current licensure/certification including CES, CPR, First Aid, and Medication Managementf. Maintain professional boundaries with staff and client. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor*QUALIFICATIONS: *High School Diploma or equivalent life experience. One (1) year experience in building maintenance/repair or equivalentKnowledge of substance abuse preferredValid driver's license and safe driving record*KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: *Must have problem solving skills and a high degree of self motivationExcellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skillsAbility to write and speak effectivelyAbility to manage several areas of responsibility simultaneouslyFamiliar with local building codes and OSHA regulationsAbility to work well with ever changing priorities and/or situations*PHYSICAL DEMANDS*The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
