Overview* Actively greet, engage and thank customers during check out process to increase customer satisfaction. Maintains knowledge of store layout to answer customer questions.* Operates front-end scanning equipment and register, performs all related check out procedures in an efficient manner.* Ensures proper bagging of customers merchandise efficiently and placing merchandise in customer's cart.* Responsible for all funds including cash, checks, debit/credit slips and coupons. Maintains proper security measures and cash drawer accounting procedures, avoiding excessive overages and/or shortages.* Maintains knowledge of weekly ads, advertised and in-store specials, and special promotions in order to answer customer questions, generate sales by suggestive selling and to assure accuracy in ringing up merchandise.* Follows company and legal regulations concerning tobacco and alcohol sales.* Utilizes "down time"A' to improve cleanliness and organization of front end and aisles.* Ensures smooth function of department and store by cooperating with co-workers and superiors.
