Accountants can expect to work with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management. You should have a firm grasp of accounting and financial practices and regulations and possess strong computer and verbal and written communication skills. The role begins with basic accounting functions; however, advancement / growth potential is high for those willing to work hard and with proven work ethics.*Responsibilities** Manage all accounting transactions* Prepare budget forecasts* Publish financial statements on time* Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings* Reconcile accounts payable and receivable* Ensure timely bank payments if needed* Compute taxes and prepare sales/use tax returns* Manage balance sheets and profit & loss statements* Report on the company's financial health and liquidity* Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary* Comply with financial policies and regulations* Provide financials to clients and answer questions as needed* Ensure systematic and clear communications with clients* Be a liason between the client and our team members*Skills** Work experience as an Accountant (2-7 years)* Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)* Hands-on experience with accounting software like Xero and QuickBooks* Experience with general ledger functions* Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills* BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree* Exposure to tax returns and/payroll a plus* Additional certification (CPA) is a plusJob Type: Full-timePay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceSchedule:* Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:* Falls Church, VA 22046: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:* GAAP: 1 year (Preferred)* Accounting: 2 years (Preferred)License/Certification:* CPA (Preferred)Work Location: One location
