Our people are hosts and are empowered to do what needs to be done.If you enjoy interacting and making people happy, are inspired by challenges in a fast-paced environment, and possess a true passion for hospitality and genuine service, we are interested in speaking with you about our exciting opportunity at the front desk.We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven *Front Desk Agent* to join our team at The Gloverpark *Hotel*.The ideal candidate will have experience working at a hotel and a keen sense of customer service. The successful candidate for this position will work directly with the Front Office manager and be responsible for providing services that are requested to create the hospitality we are known for.Responsibilities:* Welcome guests in a friendly, prompt, and professional manner, recognizing returning guests.* Check guests in, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room location.* Ensure required identification is taken from guests at check-in in line with local legislative requirements.* Answer phones promptly and courteously.* Up-sell rooms where possible to maximize hotel revenue.* Answer, record, and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns.* Record guest preferences in the system.* Check guests out, including resolving any late or disputed charges.* Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions using established procedures.* Issue, control, and release guest safe deposit boxes in line with hotel procedures* Communicate any outstanding guest requests or issues to management that may require additional monitoring or follow-up.* Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines.* Follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures consistently. Immediately report any health and safety incident, security breaches, concerns, or suspicious behavior to the supervisor or manager on duty.* May routinely book guest reservations for individuals and/or groups requested either by phone or from within the hotel, process cancellations, revisions, and information updates on changes.* Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service.* Perform other duties as assigned, including guest room tours, concierge services, special guest requests, etc.Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Employee discount* Flexible schedule* Health insurance* Paid time off* Parental leave* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Day shift* Evening shift* Monday to Friday* Night shift* Weekend availabilityAbility to commute/relocate:* Washington, DC 20007: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Experience:* Hotel experience: 1 year (Required)Work Location: One location
