Grade 91The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation's most effective animal protection organization, is seeking a Manager, Conference and Events for the Outreach, Engagement and Training, Conferences & Events department. In this position you will manage planning and execution of events and conferences for the Conferences & Events team. Oversees logistics, vendor and attendee relations, contracts, and budgeting for specific events as assigned.You will be responsible for:A cents € cents Managing the planning and logistics of events and conferences including live and virtual/hybrid events for the Conferences & Events team. Assisting the Senior Director in overall management of the events life cycle;A cents € cents Managing vendor activities including catering, printing, shipping, audiovisual services, and transportation;A cents € cents Reviewing and editing contracts including domestic and international event contracts from across the family of organizations in cooperation with the Office of General Counsel, mitigating risk and reducing costs;A cents € cents Managing and conducting site visits and requests for proposal;A cents € cents Preparing and disseminating meeting specifications, schedule, agenda, and space allocation;A cents € cents Developing, strategizing, and overseeing content for marketing and editing externally generated content;A cents € cents Budgeting, preparing, and ordering promotional products;A cents € cents Providing logistical support for presenters, entertainers, and VIPs;A cents € cents Soliciting and managing sponsors and exhibitors;A cents € cents Managing room blocks, including attendees, staff, speakers, and VIPs reservations and working to mitigate attrition;A cents € cents Managing conference/meeting registration software including assisting attendees both pre-event and on-site;A cents € cents Assisting and advising on budgeting, invoicing, and reconciliations. Negotiating and resolving billing disputes;A cents € cents Developing and administering evaluations and tracking statistics and feedback;A cents € cents Providing day-of assistance and management on-site to staff, partners, and attendees;A cents € cents Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices;A cents € cents Maintaining inventory and storage of event supplies;A cents € cents Supervising interns, volunteers, and other staff as needed;A cents € cents Performing other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.Qualifications and Requirements:A cents € cents Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Communications or another related field, or equivalent work experience, required;A cents € cents A minimum of three (3) years of experience in event planning, hospitality, or another related field required;A cents € cents Experience in the development and execution of virtual/hybrid events;A cents € cents Willing and able to travel and work a flexible schedule;A cents € cents Ability to lead and guide staff to meet department and organizational goals.
