CACI is seeking a talented Technical Writer / Content Strategist to join the high-tech, dynamic staff of its recently acquired Ascent Vision Technologies (AVT), joining CACI as member of its National Security and Innovation Solutions (NSIS) Sector. The main role of the Technical Writer / Content Strategist is to contribute to and support the development of product and business-related documentation and communications.

More About the Role:
  • Write, edit, review, organize, and maintain complex manuals and documentation for our hardware and software products
  • Write and edit government proposals, white papers, and reports for our core products and software while ensuring content and format are compliant with proposal instructions and criteria
  • Convert highly technical information into documents for audiences of varying backgrounds
  • Collaborate with leadership on the daily operations of the organization to include development of standard operating procedures, strategic communication, and program management functions
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, and Project Management teams in defining the content of user manuals and customer training materials
  • Perform document gap analyses and develop plans to address deficiencies
  • Maintain version control and ensure that content conforms to established guidelines and best practices
  • Proofread content for proper use of grammar, punctuation, and style guidelines
  • Develop templates for technical documentation to streamline document production and improve consistency
  • Control and improve processes for proper artifact and record storage related to the quality management system (QMS), Sales, Engineering, and Operations. Ensure storage locations and processes are aligned with business needs including accessibility, protection of proprietary information, and backup/retention
  • Help train employees on content management and continually promote best practices
  • Ensure the security, accessibility, and proper distribution of documents related to customers, projects, and products
  • Collect, compile, and report on customer feedback and satisfaction in regular quarterly Management Reviews
  • Identify customer feedback trends to improve our systems and encourage data-based decision making
  • Provide support, training, and notifications to the quality manager to ensure all documented processes and policies within the QMS are aligned, followed as written, and improved upon when possible
  • Help conduct internal quality audits to ensure continued compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard as well as with company procedures and policies
  • Assist in continually improving products and processes through problem identification, root cause analysis, and corrective action, when warranted
  • Work closely with Sales and BD to develop and deliver engaging content that addresses business goals
  • Liaise with Marketing and Corporate Communications to ensure brand consistency and develop content that aligns with marketing targets
  • Work with cross-functional teams and our AVT Australia partners to ensure marketing materials are accurate, available, and properly controlled based on their content and what can be shared between the US and Australia


You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree and 3 years of relevant Technical Writing experience
  • Experience with the preparation, creation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including white papers, proposals, reporting, product documentation, and product user manuals
  • Experience writing and maintaining technical documentation to include installation, configuration, and training documentation
  • Ability to create original content that targets a specific audience and meets company objectives
  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional writing, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work with aggressive deadlines and tailor deliverables accordingly
  • Ability to communicate and establish relationships across a wide spectrum of people with varying degrees of experience and knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and as a key member of the team
  • Ability to work effectively on several projects simultaneously, independently and within groups
  • The ability to self-edit and proofread your own work
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines in a highly dynamic environment


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Technical writing experience within various government programs and applications
  • Experience with document standards and publishing software
  • Experience in defense contracting
