CACI is looking for several levels ofSystem Engineersto support our customer, U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), at Scott AFB Illinois. This position is contingent upon award of theUSTRANSCOM Command, Control, Communication & Cyber Systems Managed Information Technology Services (MITS), Enterprise support Managed services.

What You'll Get to Do:

Supervises and manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based.Optimizes system operation and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning.Provides assistance tousers in accessing and using business systems.

Performs a variety of difficult assignments associated with monitoring and controlling computer operating systems. Supervises and manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of business systems. Optimizes system operation and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning. Aids users in accessing and using business systems. Sets up and maintains more than one type of computer system such as Open VMS Systems/DSM environments, UNIX systems (SCO and SUN), and Windowssystems. Analyzes system faults and troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems. Evaluates and installs developed software during various phases of testing. Reviews and prepares documentation for systems,tests,and installation of software. Investigates and recommends methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Initiates preventive maintenance on the operating systems as well as repair to system/environment problems. Administers systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules. Interfaces with vendors for trouble calls. Supports the planning of system/environment requirements for individual projects. May provide work direction and guidance to others.

More About the Role:

Specifically, theSystem Engineer (SE) will be responsible for supporting systems and applications on a Windows 10 Enterprise network with multiple types of servers and server applications. TheSEwill be directly responsible for the effective and efficient operation and interconnectivity of a Department of Defense Network and will execute the actions required to correct deficiencies or shortcomings and to improve system performance and efficiency. The SE will be responsible for performing and overseeing the management of Windows system administrator functions supporting a global Active Directory (AD) infrastructure. TheSE will provide senior level knowledge and Tier2/3 support to the customer and their components to include Tier2/3 infrastructure, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and support that builds, configures, and administers several hundred servers in their area of operation. Additionally, the SE will provide remote support and/or travel to customer servers and sites as required.

The ideal candidate will have experience and a strong engineering background in Microsoft Exchange Design,Migration,and Implementation.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Currently hold an adjudicatedSecret Clearanceand be able tomaintain
  • Professional certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570.01.IAT II(Security +or equivalent)
  • BA/BS and 5 +yrsrecent specialized specialized
  • A minimum of one the following Microsoft Computing Environment certifications (and or other applicable certifications):

MCSE - Widows Server 2016

Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Server Infrastructure

MCSE - Private Cloud

MCSE - Messaging

VMware Certified Associate (VCA) 5/6

  • Recommend best-practice solutions for servertechnologies
  • End-to-end monitoring of application performance and availability
  • Provide technical leadership and cross-training to peers in areas ofexpertise
  • Act as a resource to team members, participates in team and professionalmeetings
  • Coaches and provides input as to the needs of Infrastructurestaff
  • Provide 3rd line technical support asneeded
  • 6+ years of experience in Systems Engineering work with demonstrated increasedresponsibility
  • Professional and responsible system administration of Microsoft Windows servers
  • Experience and a strong engineering background in Microsoft Active Directory Design and Domain Name Services (DNS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange administration
  • Experience with System Center Configuration Manager 2012
  • Experience withVmWareESXiadministration
  • Experience with managing and developing GroupPolicies
  • Experience with HBSS configuration and troubleshooting
  • Effective communications throughout all levels of operational command
  • Experience supporting Command Post of the Future concepts andconfigurations
  • Ability to document system process andarchitecture

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batchfiles
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operationalneeds
  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
  • Documentation experience using Microsoft Visio or similar products.
  • ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
