Job Description:

CACI is looking foranDatabase Architectto support our customer, U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), at Scott AFB Illinois. This position is contingent upon award of theUSTRANSCOM Command, Control, Communication & Cyber Systems Managed Information Technology Services (MITS), Enterprise support Managed services.

What You'll Get to Do:

Responsible for engineering and designing database systems and applications on a geographically dispersed Enterprise network withmultiple types of servers and server applications.Candidates must have knowledge and experience in major relational database languages and applications, such as Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, Oracle, and Sybase.Responsible for database server administration functions supporting a global Active Directory infrastructure in a mixed environment.Requires a strong technical foundation in database structure, configuration, installation,operation,and maintenance. Must demonstrate the ability to pay keen attention to detail, possess a strong customer service orientation, andhave the ability towork as part of a team. Will provide database administration (DBA) support services, to include Tier 3 level expertise, as well as the planning, implementation, and monitoring of patching services for physical and virtual solutions. Monitoring and maintaining databases. Performing requested changes, updates and modifications to database structure and data. Ensuring technical modifications do not adversely affect database integrity,stabilityand system availability. Implementing solutions for database backup and recovery infrastructure. Database modeling and implementation. User interface development. Ability to produce visualization of data for leadership decision making. May provide work direction and guidance to others. Other duties as assigned.

More About the Role:

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.

Provide Database engineering designs, builds, and escalated support to services and products.Provide database administration to include data backups, schemadevelopment and maintenance,and database/OS upgrades.Support to Operations and Exercises for Oracle, Sybase, and Microsoft SQL databases.Support Database engineering activities that span across multipletechnologies and platforms. Perform engineering functions found in the service design domain and provide escalated support to incident management.Support engineering efforts to design, build, test, integrate, transition, implement, document, and train when transitioned to IT Operations Management.

Additionally, the Database Architectwill provide remote support and/or travel to customer servers and sites as required.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Currently hold an adjudicatedTopSecret/SCIClearanceand be able tomaintain
  • BA/BS + 7 yearsrecent specialized experience
  • Oracle, Sybase, or Microsoft SQL Certification
  • CompTIASecurity +(IAT Level II or greater)


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • ITIL v3 - Foundation
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
  • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batchfiles
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operationalneeds
  • Experience working inVmWareESXienvironments
  • Experience withnetwork storage (SAN/NAS)
  • Experience withenterprise backupsolutions
  • Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
  • Experience working with and supporting Cisco Routers and Switches


This position is contingent upon contract award in late 2022.
