CACI is looking to hire a System Modeler (Unmanned Systems) to support the government team spearheading research & development for the sensor systems on the US Navy's newest autonomous marine vessels/unmanned surface vehicles (USV). Capture hardware and software connections in USV sensor systems and create static system models of interconnected sensor system components to aid with configuration management of system architecture.

Ideal candidate has experience in system drawings and DoDAF system modeling in SV-1, or SV-2 levels.

More About the Role:

  • Document as-built condition of USV Sensor and Situational Awareness systems in engineering diagrams.
  • Map all connections that affect autonomous functionalities (software access points, hardware, system architecture, virtual machine hosts, government furnished equipment (GFE), ports, etc).
  • Utilize DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) models such as System View (SV)-1 to create Autonomous Control System engineering diagrams.

Anticipated start date: Jan 2023. Remote authorized - with flexibility for in-person meetings on occasion (Norfolk, VA area or Washington, DC area).

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience with system modeling/system architecture.
  • Experience creating engineering system diagrams with Visio or similar program.
  • Familiarity with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF).
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (DoD Secret).

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in systems architecture, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with sensor and situational awareness systems.
  • Experience with unmanned/autonomous systems.
  • Familiarity with naval/maritime systems.
