What You'll Get to Do:

CACI is looking for a talented Software Development Summer Intern on-site at our Colorado location. As a summer intern, you will work closely with technical staff to create and improve software products.

More About the Role:

Software development interns may:
  • Assist in coding, testing, and debugging new software.
  • Perform maintenance on or make enhancements to existing software.
  • Work with developers and product owners to understand current development problems and suggest possible solutions.
  • Assist in the development of user manuals and other documentation.


You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Software Development interns must possess the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and communicate well with developers, engineers, data scientists, and other team members.
  • Software Development interns are not required to possess an active security clearance to start but are expected to be able to qualify for and maintain a clearance of at least Secret level (some programs may require TS/SCI).
  • Due to contract requirements these positions will require proof of US Citizenship.
  • Software Development interns must be undergraduate or graduate students, pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Must currently be enrolled in High School OR a full-time Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate Student
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
  • Machine learning algorithms (both "classic" and modern)
  • Machine learning libraries (e.g. SciKit Learn, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Object-oriented programming
  • Agile project management/software development
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process
  • Relational and non-relational database systems


Software Development internship opportunities exist across several teams and projects, each making use of distinct toolkits. It would be nice if an intern had either coursework or other previous experience with some of the following:
  • C++ | C# | Python | Java | Javascript
  • Docker | Kubernetes | WebAssembly | Angular | Svelte
  • TypeScript | SCSS| Electron | AWS | Terraform
  • Ansible | Argo| SpringBoot | Gitlab | Jenkins | Fortify
  • Nexus | Kubeflow


If Undergraduate or Graduate, pursing a degree in Software Development, Data Science or related field is preferred, not required.

Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required.

Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $34,100-$68,200. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
