Manager, Data Engineering - Workforce Strategy Team (Remote Eligible)

Join the Workforce Strategy Team as part of the Chief of Staff Business Management Office for Card Technology (CT). It's an exciting time to be in Technology, especially Card Tech, as we transform the way we do business and deliver effortless digital experiences to our customers.

The Chief of Staff office drives horizontal key initiatives that support ~3000 associates across multiple geographies and multiple business domains. This position will focus on the horizontal workforce strategy for all of Card Technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Encourage a culture of creating people solutions within Card Tech
  • Build a bridge between two data repositories to help drive workforce strategy
  • Analyze domain-level hiring trends, and craft appropriate solutions
  • Partner with labor leads to create internal dashboards to report real-time workforce trends and analysis
  • Identify any outstanding communication gaps, and assemble appropriate resources
  • Create, enhance, and optimize data visualizations in Tableau using data from a variety of sources and creating custom SQL queries
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
  • Develop and enhance applications using a modern technology stack such as Python, Shell Scripting, Scala, Postgres, Angular JS, React, and Nifi

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 6 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
  • At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies
  • At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience using database management tools (SQL)
  • 2+ years of experience creating Tableau visualizations
  • 2+ years of experience with relational database systems including Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • 3+ years of experience with Scala or Python
  • 3+ years of experience building data pipelines and using ETL tools
  • 3+ years of building applications in a cloud environment
  • 3+ years of experience creating automated solutions
  • AWS Certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City

- $190,950 and $225,278 for Manager, Data Engineering

Location is Colorado

- $161,847 and $190,943 for Manager, Data Engineering

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
