Duties

  • Responsible for the Air Systems integration of Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) requirements throughout the life of the F-35 program.
  • Evaluates contractors' technical proposals. Assembles and integrates the technical portions of Requests for Proposals and system plans, utilizing inputs from other engineering specialists.
  • Engages with other organizations, including functional counterparts, HQ AFMC, DoD, other federal agencies, industry partners and academia.
  • Responsible for sustainment and maintenance data analysis, cost benefit analysis, optimization and analytical modeling.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Professional engineering knowledge gained through attainment of a Bachelor's degree in on of the engineering disciplines or equivalent is required. Advanced degree such as Masters or PhD are preferred.

2. In-depth, expert knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, methods, and techniques of aircrew and maintenance training systems acquisition and development.

3. Broad knowledge of weapons systems operational procedures, techniques, climatic and environmental factors that impact training system performance.

4. Knowledge of related engineering disciplines such as systems engineering, controls and displays, on-board computer systems, software development and distribution processing.

5. Knowledge of regulations, policies, and operating instructions, and procedures as they pertain to the preparation of technical documents, technical source selections, statements of work, and design and test standardization.

6. A working knowledge of capabilities of computer systems and how they may be effectively employed to assist required analytical efforts.

In this positionyou willbe responsible for the Air Systems integration of Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) requirements throughout the life of the F-35 program. This position is responsible for sustainment and maintenance data analysis, cost benefit analysis, optimization and analytical modeling. These responsibilities include but are not limited to vertical and horizontal integration of PHM across business, design, development, and implementation, ensuring proper design balance of the on, and off aircraft PHM capability across F-35 Lightning II, JSF Enterprise, team response to actions and program requests, holistic Systems Engineering across multi-functional teams and refining program priorities.

Other desired traits include but not limited to:
  • Possesses knowledge of state of-the-art engineering, logistics, and industrial sustainment processes, practices, and policies (multi-service) to support fighter aircraft on a global scale.
  • Possesses knowledge of advanced diagnostics and Prognostics & Health Management (PHM) design, technologies and processes and their interrelationship with fighter aircraft operational and sustainment processes.
  • Possesses knowledge, acquired by numerous years of experience on legacy platforms, of lifecycle fleet support, logistics and sustainment processes, practices, and policies (multi-service) to support fighter aircraft on a global scale.
