Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a Senior Pega SME to support digital transformation within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Financial Services Center.
Within the FSC, the Financial Technology Service (FTS) is responsible for all Information Technology including requirements analysis and sizing, backlog management, scrum team governance, incremental/sprint planning, business value, dependency management, risk and impact analysis, scheduling, budget vs actual labor reporting, configuration management, testing, infrastructure operations, application modernization, cyber security, process improvement, and Agile Release Train orchestration.
FTS's IT products address a broad array of VA's enterprise requirements including timekeeping and payroll; accounting; financial reporting and auditing; healthcare claims processing; accounts payable and payment processing; employee travel and charge card; employee relocation; financial data analytics; and financial integration.
This role can be performed in Austin, TX or fully remote.

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the product management liaison to the appropriate vendor. For instance, the Pega Center of Excellence shall be the technical liaison between the Government and Pega Inc.
- Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
- Resolve variety of high impact problems through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
- Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
- Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
- Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
- Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Related Scientific /Technical Discipline is required
- 10 years of experience that works functionally across financial services organizations of similar size and complexity, providing leadership, support and guidance for multiple teams along with transformational initiatives that use Pega technology including Robotics Process Automation (RPA)
- Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Ability to rapidly prioritize competing requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Proven knowledge of industry standards
- Ability to travel onsite in Washington, DC
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
