The Division of Information Technology (DIT) is hiring a Senior Business Manager to provide financial management and oversight to campus wide efforts, as well as management of several plant accounts. Essential elements to the position are the ability to lead strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts. Key to this role is the ability to implement university and division policies, procedures, and initiatives.

Additionally, this is a supervisory position where guidance and oversight will be provided to direct reports, as well as leading division-wide training and documentation. This position will be instrumental in process improvement for business practices, policies, and procedures within DIT. Of vital importance are cross-team processes to ensure streamlined communication and efficient timelines with the Business Office. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Finance and HR within the Business Support Services unit.

Minimum qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Experience: 

  • 5+ years of demonstrated process/financial experience in industry or academic settings
  • Experience supervising employees
  • Experience executing business process improvements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Superior analytical skills, logic and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity and ability to learn on the fly to understand and solve new problems
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written in a manner which is clear, logical and consistent
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively work as a team and independently
  • Excellent customer service
  • High level proficiency in Excel

Preferences:

EDUCATION

Masters degree/Graduate classes in accounting, business administration, finance, or related field

EXPERIENCE

Experience with financial audits

Salary range is in the low $100,000s. **This position does not provide sponsorship for Visas.

Physical demands: 

This position functions in an office environment. Must be able to work quickly and effectively under stress and pressure in emergencies, as well as react calmly in stressful situations. May need to work some evenings/weekends to meet deadlines.
