Job Summary
Aptive is seeking an HR Generalist located in Austin, TX to support people and culture in Aptive's Austin location. Occasional travel to Alexandria, VA may be required at approximately three days two to four times per year.
Collaborating with key stakeholders across departments and functions, this role will be focused on successfully onboarding and orienting new employees to Aptive as well as general HR support.
This full-time position is best suited for a person who is empathetic, engaging and easily connects with people to understand their needs. They should have a passion for building a culture that values They will need to be able to work both in-person and virtually and may be required to work on the client site as needed. They should be comfortable presenting to an audience and facilitating group meetings and enjoy arranging small-scale events (like happy hours and team building events).
As a self-starter, they would be able to prioritize competing tasks efficiently, follow a weekly schedule to meet deadlines and identify and recommend process improvements for a streamlined orientation experience for our newest Aptivators. and be able to handle sensitive and/or confidential topics.

Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares onboarding employees for their first day at Aptive.
- Supports employees with questions about benefits, career competencies and compensation.
- Helps with HR help desk ticket prioritization and responses.
- Organizes and maintains electronic personnel records in various systems.
- Ensures compliance with I-9 and E-Verify requirements.
- Assists in administration of employee benefit programs.
- Helps with general office management and organization.
- Supports corporate event planning and coordination.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 or more years of HR or related experience. Preferred experience working in small to mid-sized tech companies and/or exposure to government contracting.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business, finance, humanities or related field.
- Efficient HR administration and people management skills.
- Excellent record-keeping skills.
- Strong knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Solid computer literacy with capability in email, MS Office and related HRIS, accounting and ACS, preferably in ADP Workforce Now, Unanet and iCIMS.
- Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
