Programs Administrator (ARIE), Stearns CenterThe Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning is seeking a client-focused, detail-oriented, collaborative and growth-minded Programs Administrator to support outreach to faculty, client tracking, and cross-platform communication for programming related to anti-racism and inclusive teaching specifically and for the Center overall. Having a diverse faculty and staff is an important strategic focus for Mason and we strongly encourage candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academically and culturally inclusive environment.About the Department:Our office engages faculty in pedagogical and curriculum development across all faculty ranks and all disciplines; this position is created specifically to support current and soon-to-be-expanded faculty outreach/resources in relation to the university-wide Anti-Racism and Inclusive Excellence Initiative (ARIE) and other inclusive-teaching efforts.About the Position:The Programs Administrator reports directly to the Director for Teaching Excellence and works closely with the Anti-Racist and Inclusive Teaching team. The primary purpose of this position is to support, schedule, and track faculty participation in structured development opportunities and grants programs, including faculty participation in partner programs. In addition, this position will grow to support the design of multi-platform messaging (print, web, video, social) about strategies and resources that faculty can use to improve their teaching via on-demand, self-sponsored learning.Project management experience is crucial, supported by exceptional overall communication skills. Interest in and willingness to learn about multimedia instructional materials design and about inclusive teaching strategies to better support content development is expected; prior experience in teaching or training leadership is a plus. As part of our mission to encourage growth and development, Stearns Center supports team members in continuing to expand their knowledge and skills.Responsibilities:This position will report to the Director for Teaching Excellence. The incumbent's primary duties entail a diverse range of project management and communications/outreach tasks including, but not limited to:Client outreach and tracking: Manage outreach, recruitment, and tracking for large-scale faculty participation in inclusive-teaching workshops, showcases, and other programming;Project management: Support scale-up planning for Center workshops and certifications in inclusive teaching; map collaborative efforts with academic and administrative units; provide scheduling support for inclusive-teaching related committees, working groups, and special projects;Grants and stipends tracking: Manage the review processes, financial tracking, and interim/final reports for multiple in-house grants programs related to inclusive teaching; initiate and track participant stipends as needed;Multimedia communication: Assist in the design and publication of inclusive teaching educational materials, supporting Center staff in converting key content to flyers, newsletters, web resources, short videos, and/or social media posts; andOffice administration support: As needed, contribute high-quality general administrative support for the office (e.g., managing electronic communication, managing files and databases, onboarding part-time employees, and maintaining confidential files).Required Qualifications:A bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience;Experience structuring, tracking, and reporting on organization projects (e.g., training series, grants, certifications, symposia);Strong written communication skills; andProficiency with the Microsoft Office suite; with design tools for some print, web, and/or video modalities (e.g., Adobe suite, Final Cut); and/or with online project management tools (e.g., MS Planner, Zoho).Preferred Qualifications:Detail-oriented with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously;Experience communicating and interacting with constituents across multiple levels of an organization;Experience designing and/or modifying databases to track and generate reports on intake, participation, and/or output of clients/projects;Experience with website management (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, and/or html);Experience with graphic design and/or video editing;Experience designing and/or implementing informational or training materials across multiple platforms;Experience tracking funds usage within agency or government guidelines;Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate in a strong team environment; andExperience in a fast-paced small office and/or in a higher education office setting.
