Primary Purpose

This role provides Human Resources (HR) support and strategic partnerships to support client needs Employee Engagement & Relations. Requires an understanding of challenges and project goals and objectives, a strong desire to analyze, investigate, and resolve issues, ability to collaborate and lead through others, and a focus on continuous improvement. Responsible for ensuring alignment of business objectives, work cultures, and human resources programs and policies to facilitate the ability of the organization to achieve its business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as a consultant to Emmes management and Global Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP) on human resources-related issues and initiatives
  • Helps assess and diagnose overall organizational climate to ensure well-being of Emmes through effective use of employee relations, employee communication strategy, performance management and goal setting, employee surveys, and overall employee engagement
  • Effectively champions change, manage conflict and influence throughout every level of the organization
  • Provides support and guidance to HR generalists & specialists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
  • Use knowledge and experience in multiple HR disciplines (i.e. employee relations, employee engagement, performance management; succession planning; diversity and inclusion, legal compliance; rewards and recognition, etc.)
  • Maintains compliance with all local employment legislation and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Collaborate with leadership to further strengthen and develop and organizational culture reflective of our values centered around diversity and inclusion
  • Support and advise line managers on learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees
  • Other duties as assigned


Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • 10 years of experience managing human resources functions, including supervisory experience
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and relevant state and local employment laws including EEO
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required for interfacing with all levels of management including mediation
  • Ability to receive and manage confidential and sensitive personnel information
  • Strong business acumen and perspective indicative of an ability to provide insight and analysis to business issues outside of the HR function
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Collaborative team member to all colleagues within Emmes
  • Ability to prepare and make senior level presentations, and build a narrative based on collection and analysis of data
  • Must have knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of human resource principals including retention, and diversity and inclusion strongly preferred
  • Experience and familiarity with Performance Management and Succession Planning systems, preferably Cornerstone
  • Experience with conflict resolution, or another specialized area of human resources
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, and problem-solving abilities required
  • Deep organizational change management skills within scaling complex organizations
  • Ability to prepare and make senior level presentations, and build a narrative based on collection and analysis of data
  • Strong analytical ability in order to gather important HR metrics related to turnover.
