Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a talented Graphic Designer with 4+ years of experience designing creative communication, marketing, and advertising products for print and online distribution. The Graphic Designer will support the education and outreach initiatives for the Veterans Health Administration's High Reliability Organization (HRO).

The Graphic Designer will be required to implement a consistent brand across all training materials, presentations, and websites. The successful candidate should have a portfolio that demonstrates a versatile range of skills, and a good knowledge of layout, typography, image enhancement, as well as an intimate understanding of Adobe Creative Suite. The candidate must possess the ability to translate a creative brief into a concept and final deliverable and to work and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary collaborative team environment. The Graphic Designer must ensure products are visually appealing to encourage stakeholders to engage with materials.

This is an Associate-level, full-time position located in Alexandria, VA. This position may also be remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and develop material in print and digital formats for posters, newsletters, web graphics, presentations, fact sheets, and training materials.
  • Maintain brand standards and brand integrity in developed creative
  • Producing attractive and effective designs for all media
  • Liaise and communicate with stakeholders to and senior team members to review creative and gather feedback
  • Provide support to both the creative and project team throughout the execution of campaigns and projects
  • Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of experience as a Graphic Designer
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, or a related Visual Arts field
  • Portfolio required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • Adobe CC: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
  • MS PowerPoint (advanced layout and graphics)
  • MS Word (advanced layout)
  • Bonus: Video editing, motion graphics, knowledge of UX and web design, knowledge of accessibility standards and 508 compliance
