Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Business Architect to support digital transformation within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This individual will provide Business Process and Business Information Architecture services for healthcare clinical and administrative areas that include definition and prioritization of VHA needs, planning and scope coordination, and VHA business requirements and architecture partnering and packaging in accordance with objectives conveyed via BA and RDM current guidance, methodologies, and documentation.

Primary Responsibilities

The Business Architect will support Business Process and Business Information Modeling to create data-driven visualizations of Electronic Health Record (EHR) workflows. The individual will assist in mapping these workflows to New Service Requests (NSR) and Enterprise E2E Process Models. The individual will be responsible for the development of Work Effort Package (WEP) Reports that focus on final work effort packaging for process architecture and information, as well Process Model Summary Reports (PMSR) and Information Model Summary Reports (IMSR). Responsibilities may include:
  • Utilizing Microsoft Visio to prepare business models
  • Participating in Subject Matter Expert (SME) stakeholder sessions to capture process data
  • Working with Business Requirements Analysts to ensure processes trace to the proper business requirements and information models
  • Analyzing business requirements to document process models
  • Identifying and defining gaps in Electronic Health Record (EHR) capabilities
  • Providing reviews of business requirements and models to ensure traceability
  • Supporting monthly and quarterly contractual deliverables including process models, briefs/presentations, and reports (i.e., Work Effort Package, Process Model Summary, and Information Model Summary Reports)
  • Understanding the organizational policies/procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to client
  • Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support
  • Working effectively under time constraints, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Using practical skills to create highly visual, data driven, and well-structured deliverables


Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant experience
  • BA/BS degree
  • Experience supporting large, complex federal agencies; ideally VA or DoD
  • Ability to interact and engage with Executive-level stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically, both written and orally
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
