Overview

The ATM Specialist ensures the ATM fleet is performing and maintained at an optimal level to deliver a best-in-class experience through the ATM service channel. The ATM Specialist will trouble-shoot and perform first-line maintenance to the ATM fleet. Additionally the ATM Specialist performs GL reconciliation, deposit processing, cash management and audits as assigned by the ATM Team lead. They also provide exceptional service to our membership and internal partners by answering inquires and working with our vendors and partners to set-up service calls as needed and as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Provides first-line servicing of all ATM terminals owned by the Credit Union in accordance with the organization's dual control policies; troubleshoots terminal performance and minor equipment failures; cleans ATM parts, clears jammed printers and card readers, replenishes printer paper and ink
  • Retrieves deposits made at each terminal; replenishes cash; retrieves and destroys captured plastics; handles and carries large sums of cash to various locations
  • Places service calls to the ATM hardware vendor, documents service calls, machine outages and errors, and resolution statuses; meets and escorts vendor
  • Monitors terminal statuses to ensure the ATM fleet performs as expected; reports service outages and resolutions statuses to management in a timely manner
  • Processes daily ATM settlement using various system reports; performs full cash audits on each ATM as required per procedures and participates in monthly top-off audits when needed; balances, audits and posts transactions to the assigned cash vault; posts account adjustments
  • Researches transactions conducted at Credit Union-owned terminals and responds to member and employee inquiries regarding ATM, ATM card and debit card transactions; reviews video footage to identify security related concerns
  • Conducts regular compliance reviews of ATMs (ADA compliance, signage, and other items)
  • Services member accounts and responds to internal and external requests in a timely manner
  • Opens and verifies all checks and/or cash deposited to the ATM, ensuring the negotiability and accuracy of all deposit entries, and processes all deposits daily; maintains compliance with dual control policies and procedures
  • Places weekly cash order for terminals replenished by cash vendor and reviews cash vendor reports to ensure terminals are replenished and adjusted appropriately
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Trains team and branch personnel on basic troubleshooting to reduce service calls to vendors and ensure low down-time percentages.
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of cash handling experience required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance (TS/SCI/TK) for access to government facilities
  • Ability to handle a high level of responsibility that comes with managing all ATMs for the Credit Union
  • Financial institution experience preferred
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct management supervision
  • Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness as a self-starter
  • Basic math skils
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record in order to operate a Credit Union owned vehicle for travel to various locations
