Job Details
Works as part of a complex surplus property program. Assists in various areas of Excess / Surplus property including shipping and receiving, logistics, disposal, and record management. Assist the surplus program in the processing of over 4000+ items received and stored at the Logistics Center. Provides outreach and customer service to internal and external customers. Assist in operations of freight services as well as records management for a program responsible for over 1 million dollars in sales annually. Provides janitorial duties for operational areas and assist in removal of various surplus materials. Assist with special projects, authorized property disposals, and pickups as directed. Acts as the secondary administrative for the online reuse/ auction helpdesk. The assistant will also help to compile data for various reports as part of the division’s quality control process. Assists Property Specialist(s) with shipping and receiving duties. Cleans and organize staging area for incoming supplies and equipment. Inspects goods and validates received materials. Assists customers with logistics scheduling to include surplus property and service deliveries and pick-ups. Reports and Isolates discrepancies to research and resolve issue. Proper maintenance and care which may include the following: buffing, sweeping, and mop/cleaning floors on a regular basis. Cleans and dust furniture, lockers, cabinets, windowsills, radiators, and other furnishings. Empty trash receptacles and ash trays. Cleans and washes windows, fixtures, and walls as directed
NOTE: The salary for this position will not exceed the midpoint of the advertised salary range.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education; Plus, one year of warehouse experience using material handling and equipment performing inventory tasks.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver’s license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and a driving record check.
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of and experience with logistics and warehouse practices and procedures. Experience with property and inventory control. Some experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Excel, with the ability to set up and maintain detailed receiving and location records. Experience in warehouse operations to include the operation of MHE.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds, such as boxes of paper, furniture, etc. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
