Job Announcement
BONUS: Sign-on bonus for new county employees of $2,000 for full-time.
This is an opportunity to join the Addiction Medicine Clinic (AMC) team. AMC provides Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), primarily to those with opioid use disorders who are prescribed Suboxone through our Office Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) program. Services address substance use and other behavioral health disorders as well as co-occurring primary care needs of individuals.
Programming includes medically and clinically managed detoxification, induction, medication management, case management, and therapy. Delivers appropriate Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), medical and clinical services to clients in compliance with state license requirements and under the direction of nursing supervisor. Obtains information from the Virginia Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) and performs observed urine drug screening on clients. Provides medical monitoring of clients, administration of medication and provision of injections as ordered by prescribers. Reviews potential benefits and side effects of medication with clients and provides health education. Monitors for signs and symptoms of withdrawal and provides head to toe nursing assessments. Communicates with clients as well as medical and clinical staff, and others inside the CSB, as well as those in the community. Must be able to work as part of a treatment team which consists of behavioral health specialists, therapists, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychiatrists, and physicians.
AMC is based at Sharon Bulova Center for Community Health (formerly Merrifield Center) and this position may be asked to work at AMC satellite sites at Gartlan Center or Northwest Center on a weekly basis, or to conduct outreach and engagement at Fairfax Detox Center or the Adult Detention Center on designated day(s) each week.
This position will include some evening hours (until approximately 7pm).

Employment Standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program; plus two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Some positions within this classification will require additional certifications and licenses, as defined by the position description and posted in job announcements.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter.
This position is emergency/essential services personnel. (Required to report for duty during inclement weather and/or other emergencies).
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. - Provides nursing services to individuals and/or families in clinics, ambulatory care centers, offices, or community settings;
