Fairfax County's Department of Information Technology is currently seeking a Business Analyst to work within the Platform Technologies Division.
This position serves as the Department of Information Technology software and IT asset compliance officer. Under general supervision ensures software licensing and other technology products are in accordance with contracts, leasing schedules, licensing agreements and subscription services, and DIT and county fiscal policies for the myriad of county-owned resources. Monitors license usage to conform to contract agreements and copies owned. Assists in the tracking and deployment of IT infrastructure in the County data center and county facilities, and hosted in commercial space. Keeps track of required documentation for appropriate acquisition and disposal and coordinates procurement needs with DIT PPA. Supports associated audit processes and ensures implementation of audit recommendations. Assists IT Program managers in developing product life-cycles and costs. Performs related development of reports. Participates in annual IT Asset management audit conducted by DIT and DPMM, and inputs appropriate data in FOCUS. Provides recommendations on procedures, policies and best practices. The individual has expert knowledge in preparing coversheet and logging purchase requests into procurement systems to process Purchase Orders. Knowledge of establishing tracking methods for all purchases throughout the procurement lifecycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs may be subject to a weekly testing requirement. Vaccinated employees and employees with a medical or religious exemption will complete the attestation online on their first day of employment or shortly thereafter.

Job is generally sedentary in nature, however, employee must be sufficiently mobile to deliver documents and operate keyboard driven equipment. Visual acuity is required to read data on a computer monitor and in printed format. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

- Must have hands on experience working knowledge of Procurement and Financial modules in FOCUS.
- Must have a good understanding of Software Licensing tracking, within DIT and the County.
- Experience running reports and providing assessments of the PC Replacement Program.
- Must have experience working with the Purchasing Department, and DIT Policy, Procedures, and Administration group on tracking IT Infrastructure assets.
