The Lourie Center TNP, Adventist HealthCare, is hiring a full-time Safety Officer in Rockville, Maryland. We are currently offering a $1,000 sign-on bonus to qualified candidates!

We're seeking an experienced Safety Officer who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Safety Officer, you will:
•Offer support directly or indirectly to staff intervening with any child in crisis.
• Consistently monitor all classrooms, the de-escalation room and time out rooms, anticipating and identifying situations which may be escalating for the purpose of early intervention.
• Oversee the processing of Behavior Observation Report(s) on all children
• In collaboration with the School Clinical Director and other in-house trainers, train all school, TNP and clinic staff in how to intervene in least intrusive (verbal de-escalation) to most intrusive (restraint) methods based on the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Program.
• Process Behavior Observation Reports.
• Review digital recordings of crisis as needed for training, troubleshooting, and staff development.
• Assist in classrooms, as necessary, when other staff members are absent.
• Collect and analyze behavioral data to construct behavior plans for each individual student based on CPI Crisis Development Model.
• Communicate with transportation staff regarding reports of student behavior on the bus and relay reports to each classroom and evaluate safety plans for students presenting challenging behavior on the bus.

Qualifications Include:
• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, child development, or related discipline.
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Preferred five years of experience working with young children, preferably those with emotional/behavioral difficulties.
• Credentials to train staff in the Crisis Prevention Institute model of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention.
• Preferred two years of experience supporting and supervising team members.

Work Schedule:

Full Time, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
