Graduate Admissions Outreach ManagerThe George Mason University English Department seeks applicants for the position of Manager of Graduate Admissions, Student Awards, and Outreach. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Manage applications to the graduate programs and answering applicant inquiries;Manage all graduate program Foundation accounts;Process payments to visiting writers, guest speakers, contest judges, etc.;Arrange for travel and hotel accommodations for visiting writers;Make P-Card purchases as necessary;Assist with program outreach (print advertising, websites, newsletter, electronic signs, etc.);Attend graduate program events; andManage annual writing contests (communicate with students, inform winners, and process payments).Required Qualifications:Excellent skills in writing, math, and interpersonal communication;Skill in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office suite, including proficiency with Word and Excel;Ability to quickly learn new software programs;Ability to demonstrate significant attention to detail, and perform work with a high degree of accuracy; ability to maintain accuracy in record-keeping; andAbility to establish priorities and work independently in a busy office.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of the Ellucian SCT Banner system is a plus.
