Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Washington Post's digital advertising and monetization platform team. As a member of the team, you will have an immediate impact on a critical revenue stream by helping to solve complex problems and delivering value through innovative engineering solutions. You should demonstrate a high level of expertise in all facets of web application development.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all stages of software development - from brainstorming and prototyping to implementation, testing and support
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices and coding standards across a variety of projects.
- Work directly with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Analysts and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into highly performant applications
- Architect, build and deploy applications on AWS

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years experience building and delivering highly-performant, customer-facing applications
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript development principles
- Hands-on experience developing applications with React
- Experience with at least one server-side programming language such as Node or Python.
- Strong understanding of browsers and the HTTP protocol
- Desire to work in an agile environment with frequent releases
- Experience building applications on AWS products such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3
- Experience with DevOps technologies like Docker
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital advertising
- Experience with component driven development
- Familiarity with serverless architecture, tools and patterns
- Experience with Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB or DynamoDB
- Experience with TypeScript
