Principal Associate, Risk Guide - Enterprise Services Business Risk Office (Machine Learning)

As a Risk Guide supporting the Enterprise ML Program, you will partner with colleagues across ML product, design and tech to deliver results that have a direct impact on customer experience and implement risk solutions to ensure Capital One's continued stability and success. Responsibilities require partnering with a broad set of leaders and stakeholders to identify existing and potential emerging risks in an open, collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of process management strategies, risk methodologies, and an ability to build relationships with business and risk partners. Core responsibilities include oversight of process hierarchy, critical business process identification and consultation, horizontal support for Enterprise Services controls program, and controls development of internal solutions uniquely designed to meet the challenges of a digital-first, cloud-first business at scale.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead in the development of risks, issues, and/or mitigation plans to ensure the business implements needed changes and addresses areas of exposure
  • Have strong communication and collaboration skills, fostering positive working relationships with business partners
  • Oversee, review, and manage Enterprise Services process hierarchy (L1/L2 processes)
  • Manage, coordinate, and contribute to Security and Controls tasks and deliverables for Cloud implementations
  • Manage, oversee, and implement process improvements: data quality, process certification framework, process hierarchy change management, change control, and risk reporting
  • Consult across the first line of defense business partners on Risks, providing advice and guidance as needed
  • Participate in process criticality and process level assessments
  • Build out and maintain Enterprise Services Process Governance strategy and standards
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Enterprise Services process owners, process managers, and vertical risk advisors


Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Process Management, Project Management, Risk Management, or Cloud Risk Management
  • At least 3 years of Compliance, Legal, Regulatory or Operations experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Technology or Cybersecurity


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Business Process Management certification, Lean, or Green Belt Certification
  • Knowledge of PRIME system and data model
  • At least 3 years of experience in Process management
  • At least 3 years of experience in Change or Risk Management
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Risk Guide
  • Ability to drive results and communicate with all levels
  • Deep understanding of appropriate controls to secure cloud-based services (SaaS) products
  • Collaborate with ERM, ORM, and business partners throughout the ES BRO value chain to help drive best practices and principles, specific to process management execution strategies
  • Work closely with the Product GTM teams to ensure that project plans can be effectively implemented and iterated, providing frontline risk feedback and innovative solutions
  • Effectively work in white space and bring structure to deliver on our well managed agenda
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City

- $127,092 and $149,940 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
