Job Summary

Aptive is seeking a Software Developer - Intermediate to provide support services to the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC). The services will include related activities in support of all complete lifecycle management, software maintenance, software engineering, software sustainment, software replication and distribution, software control, Information Technology (IT) technical support services, Post Deployment Software Support (PDSS), Post Production Software Support (PPSS), and Cybersecurity. These services advance SEC's mission of ensuring operational readiness by developing, providing, integrating, and maintaining Army Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), Logistics, and Business Software.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with analysts to understand their analytic or interface requirements
  • Develop tools and interfaces
  • Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software applications.
  • Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements. Design embedded systems software


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline is required.
  • Must have two years within the last five years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining software for a variety of engineering applications
  • Work with analysts to understand their analytic or interface requirements
  • Develop tools and interfaces
  • Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software applications
  • Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements. Design embedded systems software
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience is required in the following areas:
    • Experience developing in virtualized environments
    • Coding & troubleshooting in C/C++ in a Linux environment
    • Coding & troubleshooting in Java in a Linux environment
    • Experience with Red Hat Linux OS, VSphere, Shell scripting, Atlassian
    • Experience working with version control systems, especially Gitlab
    • WebApp experience
    • MVC design methodology and .NET experience
    • AFDS work with either OpenID (user account)
    • Bootstrap experience
    • Experience with .NET Core
  • Secret security clearance


Desired Qualifications

  • GitLab and Agile Scrum experience is preferred
