Job Description

The Washington Post Personalization team is looking for a senior software engineer who is excited to create forward-thinking solutions for the next generation of journalism and advertisement.   • Design, develop, debug, and modify software systems using best practices.
  • Consult with product managers, designers, business owners, and other stakeholders for software design and maintenance.
  • Establish and regularly review coding standards, testing principles, and deployment processes.
  • Analyze operational/system requirements, participate in architecture reviews, and present technical briefings.
  • Work closely with data scientists and machine learning engineers, and other teams to build and scale infrastructure.
  • Document technical work and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.


Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • 3 years of software development experience
  • 3 years of experience working with Relational and NoSQL databases

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience with Amazon web services
  • 3 years of experience building machine learning products
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and collaboration skills
