Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire a Enterprise Architect who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
As a Enterprise Architect you will:
• Serve as the primary architect and subject matter expert of a broad range of infrastructure and applications systems, endpoints, peripherals, and their integration into business and clinical workflow.
• Have a broad knowledge across the entire technology portfolio with a deep understanding of AHC specific standards and policies.
• Leverage this knowledge to work closely with a team of technology subject matter experts to strategically plan upcoming technology standards, design the system architectures and platform integration, develop work breakdown structures, and provide consultation to the project management office in support of enterprise class technology systems.
• Work with the team to escalate clinical infrastructure and applications systems, endpoints, and peripherals issues to appropriate vendors to ensure systems are secure, reliable, and efficient.
• The technology portfolio supported by the team includes but is not limited to: Microsoft/AIX/Linux Server products, SQL Server, Active Directory, Azure, IBM/EMC Storage, VMware, Citrix XenApp and XenDeskop, Microsoft Endpoint Manager (SCCM/Intune), Catalyst Switches, ASR routers, ASA firewalls, Wireless LAN Controllers, VPN Concentrators, AnyConnect, Cisco ISE, OpenDNS, Enterprise class Avaya phone systems consisting of Communication Manager (CM) v7.0, Avaya Aura Messaging (AAM) v7.0, Avaya Session Border Controller (SBC), Avaya System/Session Manager v7.0, Avaya AES v7.0, TASKE Call Center Metrics system Digital, Analog and VOIP desk phones, Avaya one-X Communicator and Avaya one-X Agent softphones in a 24x7 healthcare setting. Cerner, BMDI, McKesson PACs, Rauland Nurse Responder, Vocera, ParEx, Pyxis, Sunquest, Teletracking, Phillips Patient Monitoring, BMDI, MModal, and RALS.
• Schedule lead and or participate in reviewing vendor solutions to address workflow requirements of the business and clinical departments
• Provide expertise to identify and translate business workflow into infrastructure platform and application configuration requirements
• Research potential technologies based on business and clinical workflow requirements
• Follow PMBOK best practices in the planning and design of new technology solutions
• Follow ITIL best practices in the planning and design of new technology solutions
• Assist with requirements data gathering and analysis as needed
• Assist with the development of technical reference architectures that illustrate the entire topology of a system or service including communication requirements and system dependencies
• Ensure all system designs and standards are adequately represented and adhered to in system designs
• Assess and communicate risks associated new technology solutions
• Review new technology solutions changes for the environment and provide input on the technical impact of the changes
• Participate in efforts to identify, recommend, develop, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization
• Follow PMBOK best practices in the implementation and transition of infrastructure platform and application implementations
• Participate in the creation of detailed work breakdown structures for the implementation of clinical infrastructure platform and application upgrades and implementations
• Support PMBOK best practices in tasks execution and system implementations
• Facilitate conversations across AHC employees and vendors and other support teams while implementing or upgrading technology platforms
• Follow change and release management processes
• Maintain and document a system of current IT Standards and architecture tenets and ensure these are used in designing technology systems
• Work with subject matter experts to evaluate new technology standards and update existing standards
• Perform service operational tasks including but not limited to fulfilling support requests, resolving incidents, providing access, evaluating events, and managing problems.
• Maintain an accurate understanding of operational time commitments and provide availability to support project-based implementations.
• Research alternatives for technology platforms for customers and provide recommendations
• Help identify and quantify the impact of technology decisions
• Assisting in defining and implementing IT policies, procedures and best practices
• Complete necessary internal reporting and reports status to various levels of management and client representatives
• Ability to take a flexible work schedule and be on call after hours (as part of Information Technology Team rotation schedule)
Qualifications include:
• Network + or similar certification required
• A+ or similar certification required
• A Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or information technology is preferred
• ITILv3 Foundations is preferred
• At least three primary technology certifications covering one or more technologies including but not limited to server, storage and infrastructure application certifications preferred (ie: Microsoft/AIX/Linux Server products, SQL Server, Active Directory, Azure, IBM/EMC Storage, VMware, Citrix XenApp and XenDeskop)
• 10+ years supporting client/server systems, clinical infrastructure and applications systems, endpoints, peripherals in a healthcare environment
• 5+ years supporting Cerner infrastructure and applications systems, endpoints, peripherals
• 3+ years experience providing technology design support and analysis
• Well represented experience with AHC technology portfolio or similar technologies: Cerner, BMDI, McKesson PACs, Rauland Nurse Responder, Vocera, ParEx, Pyxis, Sunquest, Teletracking, Phillips Patient Monitoring, BMDI, MModal and RALs
• In depth experience with computer systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities
• In depth experience with information systems, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, and outsourced systems management
• In depth experience with IT project management principles and PMBOK best practices
