Job Description
The Washington Post is seeking a mobile app marketing leader to join our subscriptions team and lead our app acquisition marketing strategy and campaigns to acquire new users via app marketplaces like Apple Ads and Google Universal App Campaigns. This person will define our app acquisition program's best-practices, build sustainable connections with WaPo's product marketing and engineering teams, craft day-to-day acquisition app marketing operations and strategy and ultimately build WaPo's subscription acquisition app marketing program foundation, and will report to the Manager of Paid Media.
The right candidate has experience analyzing current performance data, the latest business needs/objectives, and data insights to continuously improve performance. They are results-oriented, nimble, and loves testing and rapidly iterating to validate hypotheses and new ideas. In addition, they will be a champion for member obsessed growth, driving cross-functional collaboration, and decisions to achieve our OKRs.

The Washington Post includes salary ranges for certain positions to comply with local pay transparency laws. The salary range for this position is:
$40,077.96 - $95,000.00
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.

Responsibilities:
- Define WaPo's user acquisition strategy on app marketing platforms (i.e., Apple Ads, Google Universal App Campaigns) - build a roadmap, taking into account current resources and current/planned app marketing technology, that aims to drive sustainable subscriptions growth
- Partner with the product and lifecycle marketing teams and business stakeholders to align app marketplace acquisition marketing media and messaging strategy with overall acquisition strategy and business objectives
- Identify growth opportunities and make data and objective-backed cases for testing them
- Build and maintain efficient, effective internal team and cross-team marketing operations. Focus on building a strong, meaningful relationship with our engineering, analytics and SEO teams to build a subscription acquisition app marketing strategy that aligns with our current capabilities and informs future plans
- Regularly document and distribute reporting and insight-driven learnings and actions to team leadership
Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant app marketing experience
- Expertise planning, executing and optimizing successful app marketing campaigns
- Knowledge of app marketing best practices (experience building a program preferred)
- Experience setting up in-app event optimized campaigns using an MMP (i.e., AppsFlyer) to measure campaign success
- Ability to clearly and concisely articulate performance reporting and test results to stakeholders
- Ability to educate teammates and stakeholders about app marketing and its value to drive collaboration and buy-in on program growth
