HVAC Mechanic II Position # 116192
Facilities Management at the University of Maryland, College Park, seeks an experienced HVAC mechanic to service, repair and operate a variety of large complex commercial industrial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This position is located at the Institute for Bioscience & Biotechnology Research (IBBR) in Rockville, MD. Mechanics at this level are responsible for maintaining all components, subcomponents and aspects of HVAC central plant equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and have a minimum of six years related experience. Level I & II CFC certification is required. A Second-Class Stationary Engineer’s license and a Journey HVAC license are desirable. Experience with Siemens Apogee BAS is helpful.
SALARY/BENEFITS: The approved hiring salary range is $54,854 to $65,824.80 based on qualifications and experience. Position is Essential and subject to recall 24/7/365 as well as on a rotating schedule, including mandatory overtime for weather related or emergency situations. Standard work hours are Mon-Fri 6:00-2:30. Benefits include health, dental, vision and prescription insurance plans, tuition remission for employees and dependents, and participation in the State pension system. Starting leave benefits include: 11 days annual leave, 3 personal days, 15 sick days and 14 paid holidays per year.
