Our client in the not-for-profit industry is seeking an Outsourced Chief Financial Officer to serve as the Controller/CFO for a number of their clients. The Outsourced Chief Financial Officer is responsible for overseeing the client month end close process, payroll processing, preparation of monthly customer/member billing invoices and the preparation of timely and accurate internal monthly financial statements. If this sounds like you we are looking for someone with experience in non-profit accounting and tax preparation. CPA license is required.

Candidate must be able to:
  • Ability to perform and manage full cycle accounting needs up to and including financial statements
  • Ensure timely communication as to project status both internally and externally
  • Balance multiple engagements with varying deadlines
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the accounting operations within the organization
  • Obtain a working knowledge of accounting software packages.
  • Perform month end close process.
  • Prepare monthly bank and /or investment account reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed assets schedule
  • Prepare various general ledger account reconciliations
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements for the client by the agreed upon deadline
  • Train and oversee staff assigned to the engagements and train staff accountants and bookkeepers with the month end close process

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • 5 - 8 years' experience as a Controller or the equivalent. CPA license
  • Comprehensive knowledge of non-profit accounting standards and issues as well as a good understanding of non-profit tax issues
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Accounting software experience with Quickbooks and Creative Solutions Accounting
