Actively searching for an Outsourced Accounting Supervisor to serve as the Controller/CFO for a number of clients on an ongoing basis. The clients include a variety of non-profit organizations throughout the Washington, DC Metro area . The Outsourced Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the client month end close process, weekly bill payments, payroll processing, preparation of monthly customer/member billing invoices and the preparation of timely and accurate internal monthly financial statements. The Outsourced Accounting Supervisor will also be responsible for preparing annual audit schedules and analysis and the timely filing of tax returns for our clients. This is a DIRECT HIRE position

Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform and manage full cycle accounting needs up to and including financial statements
- Ensure timely communication as to project status both internally and externally
- Balance multiple engagements with varying deadlines
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the accounting operations within the organization. Obtain a working knowledge of accounting software packages.
- Perform month end close process.
- Prepare monthly bank and /or investment account reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed assets schedule.
- Prepare various general ledger account reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for the client by the agreed upon deadline.
- Train and oversee staff assigned to the engagements and train staff accountants and bookkeepers with the month end close process.
- Review the daily data entry by the accounting staff to ensure accurate posting in the accounting package.
- Responsible for recommending and enforcing the internal controls, policies and procedures, established by the client.
- Preparation of audit schedules, confirmation letters, etc.
- Respond to auditor inquiries.
- Provide timely response to all phone calls and emails.
- Coordinate or assist with client annual budget process

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field,
- 5 - 8 years' experience as a Controller or the equivalent.
- CPA license.
- Comprehensive knowledge of non-profit accounting standards and issues as well as a good understanding of non-profit tax issues.
Excellent MS Office Skills and Quickbooks
