Wish of a Lifetime from AARP (WOL) grants wishes to people 65-plus connecting them to their passions in recognition of their special accomplishments, contributions, and sacrifices. WOL helps people achieve long-held goals while also combatting the negative effects of isolation and strengthening social ties and intergenerational connections.

As a Wish Fulfillment Specialist, you will coordinate and execute wish experiences across the United States in support of Wish of a Lifetime's mission, vision, and organizational objectives. You are responsible for all aspects of Wish Fulfillment per the established policies, processes, and procedures of WOL and AARP. This position will work collaboratively with WOL, AARP, and third-party contacts to effectively deliver programmatic services.


  • Maintains caseload of 18 wishes and grants 42 wishes annually
  • Execute s all administrative aspects of the Wish Fulfillment Process
  • Develops and leverages relationships with partners, vendors, service providers, and other third-party contacts to coordinate execution of wishes
  • Adhere s to WOL and AARP policies , processes, and procedures related to expenses, risk management, procurement, release forms, privacy, handling of promotional assets, and safeguarding of sensitive information
  • Coordinates with other departments to enhance and promote wishes   
  • Attend s wishes and events that require on-the-ground logistical support and assistance   


  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience related to the responsibilities outlined
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Has track record of exceeding goals and following projects through completion
  • Excellent writing, research and interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Displays can-do attitude and persists in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks
  • Maintains customer focus and is adaptable and flexible
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Thrives in a collaborative, team environment and can work effectively surrounded by moderate noise
  • Ability to travel required

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.

Compensation and Benefits

AARP offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including a 401(k); 100% company-funded pension plan; health, dental, and vision plans; life insurance; paid time off to include company and individual holidays, vacation, sick, caregiving, and parental leave; performance-based and peer-based recognition; tuition reimbursement; among others.

For this position, we anticipate offering a salary between $55,800.00 to $65,100.00 per year. This role is also eligible to participate in an annual incentive plan with a percentage up to 12%. Bonus eligibility is dependent upon organizational and individual performance.
