As The Washington Post Sales Sector Director, you are responsible for managing a team of client partners within a sector (Tech, Finance, Consumer, B2B) to provide high-level client management, support and business development. You will manage a team of client partners, structured by sector with lists broken out by the propensity to spend, and active business. You will also be responsible for developing supporting client and agency relationships across accounts. The Sales Sector Director partners with marketing, pricing, planning and account management to improve the win rate across deals, strengthen The Washington Post in the market and improve communications across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Operationalize the sector strategy to achieve quarterly and annual goals.
  • Deliver accurate forecasting, manage sub-category trends and work with Client Partners to hunt and develop new business opportunities.
  • Develop, retain and recruit talented client partners within their teams.
  • Collaborate with other sector Directors to build out best practices, training and workshops to uplevel and evolve the team.
  • Manage client partner teams, including talent development, retention and training
  • Manage of 1-2 key accounts within your teams portfolio
  • Develop deep account relationships in the industry to drive opportunities and improve our win rate
  • Build out new business opportunities by identifying prospects and priority clients


Experience

Min 8+ years experience

Experience managing complex media accounts

Management / mentoring experience preferred

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.

The Washington Post includes salary ranges for certain positions to comply with local pay transparency laws. The salary range for this position is:
$200,500.00 - $334,100.00

The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
