Job Description

Along with the robust investment and record-breaking growth in digital revenue, traffic and subscriptions comes the responsibility of providing complete and accurate financial information to enable the company's leaders to make informed strategic decisions. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to support our Financial Accounting team with focus on accounting for international operations, leases and other month-end and year-end close procedures. Adaptability to ever changing business priorities with an understanding of how various puzzle pieces fit into the big picture is crucial to this role.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of general ledger and account reconciliation experience and will be a dynamic and self-motivated member of the team interested in working with a forward-looking financial accounting and reporting group. You will be charged with using your technical accounting knowledge combined with comprehensive judgment to record, reconcile, and report results.
A strong candidate in this position must possess intellectual curiosity, attention to detail and dedication to quality. You enjoy working independently as an individual contributor and are excited to take on new and additional responsibilities in the role over time.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and reporting financial data from our international locations to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting. Reviewing monthly expense fluxes including review of balance sheet and income statement variance analysis.
  • Collect and interpret necessary data to properly account for transactions under USGAAP.
  • Provide information and reporting to our Financial, Planning and Analysis team in support of its budgeting and forecasting responsibilities.
  • Manage various data portals and pull together reporting to accurately and timely prepare monthly expense entries.
  • Work with Financial Accounting management to analyze and document proper GAAP accounting interpretations.
  • Prepare accounting entries and reconciliations related to expenses, leases under ASC 842 and various other balance sheet transactions such as accruals and other liabilities
  • Provide supporting documentation for internal, external, and other ad-hoc audit requests for areas of responsibility.
  • Identify areas for process improvements, including leveraging technological solutions to improve efficiencies and assist in the implementation of robotic processing automation.
  • Maintain and update internal process documentation for existing accounting procedures and policies.
  • Support general ledger accounting functions including but not limited to journal entry preparation, month-end close processes, financial reporting accuracy, GL account reconciliations, and flux analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Perform special project, analysis, and ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.


Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
  • International accounting experience preferred
  • A demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial concepts
  • Strong Excel skills required; experience with Power Pivot and macros preferred
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Blackline a plus
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated initiative in research and follow-through
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports
